The recipient of various accolades like an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, an Emmy Award, Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, she is consistently among the top actresses paid in the world. Time magazine listed her as one of the top 100 influential people worldwide in 2006 and 2015. Forbes also named her one of the 100 Most Powerful Women Worldwide in 2019. Forbes has named her the world's most successful actor in 2021. Witherspoon has an estimated fortune of $400 million. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, she was an actor supporting in Cruel Intentions and played the role of Tracy Flick in Election. Elle Woods, a comedy comedy (2001) and its sequel in 2003, gained her wider recognition. She also starred in Sweet Home Alabama (2002) the romantic comedy. Her work was critically acclaimed, and she received the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as June Carter Cash, in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a slump in her career in which her only box office achievement was the romantic drama Water for Elephants (2011), Witherspoon made a comeback in the form of a producer and star as Cheryl Strayed in the drama Wild (2014) in which she resulted in her being nominated for a second time for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Since then, she's been involved in a majority of television productions and has appeared in a variety of female-led adaptations of literary works. These include Big Little Lies, an HBO drama series (2017-2019), The Morning Show, an Apple TV+ drama series (2019-present) and Little Fires Everywhere (2020). For the first she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Series. She has also produced the film adaptations of Gone Girl (2014) and Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).Witherspoon also owns a clothing line, Draper James, and she is involved in women's and children's advocacy organizations. She is a part of the board of the Children's Defense Fund and has been named Global Ambassador of Avon Products in 2007.
