Emily Bett Rickards born July 24, 1991, is an Canadian actor, best known for playing Felicity Smoak on The CW television series Arrow. Rickards was raised and born in British Columbia. At a very young age she was able to discover her passion for acting by performing in musical theatre. Her high school graduation was before her schedule and began studying at the Vancouver Film School where she was awarded the Acting Essentials Certificate. After finishing the program she took part in an open-call audition that led her to a booking agent. Alida Vocal Studio is located in Vancouver. Initially signed as a single-episode guest, her rapport with the show's main character Stephen Amell coupled with positive reactions from fans as well as her sarcastic quips led to her first signing to be a regular co-star for all of the remaining episodes of the season, and then as a regular character in the following season.
